- All members of the public, including school employees and students, are invited to attend.
- All members of the public are welcome to submit their questions, requests, and comments to the committee for consideration.
- In order to maintain an orderly environment for conducting this business, spokespersons representing like-minded groups or like-minded individuals shall be designated to present the questions, requests, and comments to their constituents. Spokespersons shall be seated at the table with the committee members. Should a question, request, or comment arise during the work of the committee, it will be passed from the individual to the spokesperson, who will then bring it before the committee. Individuals who do not readily identify themselves with a group will direct their questions, requests or comments to Mrs. Charlie Holland to bring to the attention of the committee.
- Individuals who cannot attend the committee meeting or who are not comfortable attending the meeting may submit their questions, requests, and comments in writing to the Central Office prior to the committee meeting. These will be presented to the committee by Mrs. Holland. All submissions will be presented. Individuals may submit their questions, requests and comments anonymously.
- This meeting and this procedure shall be publicized in the media.

Policy Committee Notice
The Policy Committee of the McDowell County Board of Education will meet on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 6:30 in the gym of Marion Elementary School. The purpose of the meeting will be to begin the review of the policy on Schools and the Religion Clauses of the First Amendment, and will recess to subsequent days for as long as is required until its work is completed.
